SSAU presented the capabilities of the Ukrainian space industry during the Space2Business conference as part of the Czech Space Week

On October 20-21, 2025, a large-scale Czech space event in the field of the space industry – the Space2Business conference – was held in Prague, which offered its participants informative workshops, programme speeches, panel discussions, round tables, a space expo and targeted B2В meetings to ensure the exchange of ideas and experience and the establishment of new business contacts, with a focus on the programs of the European Space Agency and the European Space Strategy. The event was held within the framework of the Czech Space Week and brought together more than 700 representatives of the space industry (startups, SMEs, large companies), governmental institutions – policy makers and policy implementers, investors and VC funds, academia, universities, and R&D centres, students and young professionals. A delegation of the State Space Agency of Ukraine, led by Acting Head Volodymyr Mikheiev, took part in the conference.

Volodymyr Mikheiev participated in the panel discussion “International Space Cooperation with Central and Eastern European Countries” together with government officials from Turkey, the UAE and the United Kingdom. The discussion covered the main opportunities and challenges in strengthening international cooperation in the field of space activities, how such cooperation can contribute to economic growth and innovation, the development of scientific research and technological progress in the region, educational initiatives to support long-term cooperation, and ways to integrate regional space industry companies into current and future Turkish and Emirati international space projects.

As part of the event, the Ukrainian delegation made a presentation entitled “Ukrainian Space Sector – introduction to the sector and cooperation possibilities with CEE”, held meetings with Czech, Slovak, Korean government delegations and a number of private companies, during which the prospects for international partnership and potential joint initiatives were discussed, and also visited the exhibition part of the conference Space EXPO.

During the Czech Space Gala diplomatic reception, which took place after the end of the first day of the conference, representatives of the Czech Republic’s government, scientific and business circles and international partners had a meeting. Among the guests of honour were the President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel, the Minister of Transport Martin Kupka, the CEO of the CzechInvest agency Jan Michal and other high-ranking officials. In their speeches, representatives of the Czech side paid special attention to the issue of post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, emphasizing the strategic importance of the participation of Ukrainian institutions in European space programmes. In particular, the President of the Czech Republic expressed the readiness to build and deliver to our country a modern Earth remote sensing satellite within a year, which will contribute to strengthening security and recovering Ukraine. This project is an expression of solidarity and support for a country defending itself against Russian aggression, Petr Pavel noted.

The Czech Ministry of Transport emphasised that this initiative is the result of a Memorandum of Understanding between the State Space Agency of Ukraine and the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic on cooperation in the field of exploration and use of outer space and development of space technologies and industry, signed in 2024.
