Command of space systems (Space Systems Command, SSC) The US has announced the launch of the Orbital Watch initiative, a first-of-its-kind program, created within the Front Door platform. The goal of the project is to provide an open, unclassified information about threats in space to commercial companies — as already known partners, and startups, who have not yet cooperated with the government.
Front Door is an online portal, which functions as an entry point for small businesses, innovative companies and non-standard suppliers, interested in cooperation with the US Space Force. It unites over 900 private suppliers and more 500 government partners, and these numbers are constantly growing.
Why was Orbital Watch created??
Against the background of an increasingly tense situation in space, Orbital Watch provides companies with critical information about cyber threats, electronic attacks, the behavior of enemy satellites, equipment vulnerabilities, etc. This information allows developers to adapt their technology to modern US military doctrine, increase the resilience of their systems and reduce potential losses.
The key advantage of the program is openness. If previously only companies had access to such information, who already had contracts with the US Department of Defense, now it will be available to a much wider range of developers, in particular, innovative startups.

The Orbital Watch program was launched in partnership with several key entities, including the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Department of Defense Policy in Space, US Space Force Intelligence and Commercial Integration Cell — commercial sector integration cell at Space Command.
Front Door platform, which became the basis for the new initiative, was created three years ago to facilitate commercial companies' access to government space programs. Since then it has been automated, expanded functionality and increased the number of events to attract business.
