Maritime Launch and T-minus will perform hypersonic sub -orbital launches from spaceport in New Scotland

Maritime Launch Services in cooperation with the Dutch Aerospace Firm T-Minus Engineering B.V. Plans in October 2025 year to carry out hypersonic suborbital launch of Barracuda test apparatus from space Spaceport Nova Scotia.

The launch of two missiles is planned, which will rise above the conventional limit of space — the Karman line, and will develop speeds above Mach 6. Missions are intended for scientific, defense and educational experiments, as well as technology testing in difficult atmospheric conditions. Some payload slots are still available for interested institutions.

The Barracuda is a single-stage solid-fuel launch vehicle. It has a height of about 4 meters, diameter 200 mm and can deliver up to 40 kg of payload at a height of up to 120 km. Despite successful missions in Europe, this will be the first rocket launch in North America.

The spaceport in Nova Scotia will provide a mobile launch platform and integration complex, from which preparations for launch will be made. Expected, that the launch will be a significant milestone in the development of hypersonic technology in Canada.

The project will also serve as a basis for further international cooperation in space research and testing, and will also facilitate the commercialization of Canada's space infrastructure.
