Portal Space has engaged Quindar to provide ground support for its maneuverable spacecraft missions

Ground satellite systems developer Quindar has entered into an agreement with Portal Space Systems. As part of the collaboration, Quindar will provide operational support and control for future missions of Portal maneuverable spacecraft — the Starburst satellite platform and the Supernova orbiter. The first launch of Starburst is scheduled for later this year during the SpaceX Transporter-18 mission, and the debut flight of Supernova on solar-thermal thrust will take place in 2027 year.

Quindar will provide its cloud software for these missions, which automates the management of satellites and scales to multiple tasks simultaneously, replacing outdated specialized systems. From my side, Portal vehicles are designed to dynamically move payloads between orbits, object inspection and outer space monitoring.

The companies' partnership is consistent with the Pentagon's policy of implementing flexible space architectures. Having received funding from the US Department of Defense, Portal focuses its technologies on the needs of national security — in particular on emergency response missions and rapid repositioning of assets in orbit.
