The Astronomy Super Bowl kicks off this week in Maryland

Thousands of scientists from around the world gathered in Maryland this week, to discuss new discoveries about the universe and the latest advances in astronomy at the so-called “Astronomy Super Bowl”.

245-and a meeting of the American Astronomical Society (AAS) will take place with 12 by 16 January at the Gaylord National Resort Convention Center in National Harbor, state of maryland.

The four-day event will feature numerous impressive discoveries, obtained using the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), who began to study space in 2022 year. beside this, speakers will share the latest results of other revolutionary missions, such as the Hubble Space Telescope, The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope and the XRISM mission.

The conference will also cover more general astronomical research topics and include hands-on workshops on data analysis with Python. These classes will help astronomers learn how to analyze data from JWST and Roman using Python software.

AAS is considered “Astronomy Super Bowl” due to the importance and scope of scientific research, that are discussed, and also thanks to the wide participation of professional and amateur astronomers, NASA experts, researchers and university teachers. Historically, this is the largest gathering of people, who devote their lives to the study of astronomy throughout the world.
