Thales Alenia Space, signed a contract with NIBE Space (a subsidiary of NIBE Limited) to create a high-resolution optical satellite. This satellite will be the first element of India's private Earth observation satellite constellation (Earth Observation, EO).
The agreement is another step in the partnership between Thales Alenia Space and NIBE, which began in 2024 year. The contract is designed to provide India with modern technologies of DZZ, ushering in a new era of private use of space.
Signing the contract
The official signing of the contract took place in the presence of the Chief Minister of the state of Maharashtra - Shri Devendra Fadnavis. An agreement with BlackSky was also signed as part of the ceremony, which will provide satellite imagery and analytics on a contract basis. These services will support NIBE customers in India, providing extensive monitoring capabilities based on space data.

For Thales Alenia Space, this is the first experience of working with the Indian space program.
