The US Space Force Association has created the National Space Power Center — an educational and simulation site to demonstrate military operations in space to politicians
and the public.
The newly created center is a single digital space. It brings together the coordinates of space objects, 3D-models of satellites, control systems and immersion systems in virtual reality. The center also allows to illustrate the operation of satellites and the impact of orbital conflicts on ground military operations.
The first prototype is demonstrated 21 July 2026 year in Arlington (Virginia). The top military leadership of the US Space Force observed a simulation of close maneuvering confrontation between satellites in orbit. For the first time in the scenario, an enemy aircraft was approaching an American missile warning satellite, created interference and disrupted data transmission, and in the second, a friendly companion intercepted the threat. Orbital combat is significantly different from aerial combat: maneuvers are determined by the laws of orbital mechanics and require precise planning. Visualization compresses time without distorting the physics of processes.
The project is financed by the Association and the industrial consortium (Rewire, COMSPOC, Sedaro, OpenC3, TigerVision). Companies used their own resources for research and development. The center currently has no permanent premises and no permanent funding. The purpose of the project is educational in nature and consists in increasing the understanding of operational challenges, risks and trade-offs. The organizers emphasize, that the system is not intended for budget lobbying. The association is looking for additional participants to develop scenarios and models.
