A State Space Agency of Ukraine delegation led by Acting Head Volodymyr Mikheiev took part in the annual EuroGEO Workshop 2025 held in The Hague (Kingdom of the Netherlands).
The Ukrainian side presented projects aimed at using satellite data for post-war reconstruction, environmental monitoring, assessment of war-related costs, and support for sustainable development. Special attention was paid to initiatives involving the use of geoinformation technologies for the restoration of critical infrastructure and tracking the impact of war on the environment.
A special technical session dedicated to Ukraine’s post-war recovery initiative and current challenges was held as part of the EuroGEO Workshop 2025. During the discussion, representatives of European space agencies, scientific institutions, and international organizations expressed unanimous support for the Ukrainian initiative and noted its practical value for the EuroGEO system. Ukraine’s initiative received positive feedback from representatives of the European Commission, the Netherlands Space Agency, and the Copernicus program.
Bilateral meetings are also planned with representatives of the Dutch space agency, the EuroGEO secretariat, and other seminar participants to discuss the further integration of Ukrainian developments into European Earth observation programs and prospects for joint funding.
Previously, under the auspices of the SSAU, a regional office of UkrGEO was established, which represents Ukraine in the EuroGEO initiative and coordinates national projects within the European geospatial data ecosystem.
EuroGEO is a European initiative under the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) that aims to develop innovative solutions for monitoring the environment, climate, and sustainable development.
