Arkadia Space is expanding its order book amid growing demand for environmentally friendly satellite engines

Spanish space propulsion startup Arkadia Space has signed an agreement to supply engines for a satellite, which is built by the German company Reflex Aerospace.

For reference: Reflex Aerospace specializes in development, design and rapid production of high-performance satellite platforms for commercial and defense applications.

Under the terms of the contract, Arkadia will supply 5-newton engines on ecological fuel — hydrogen peroxide, a fuel tank and electronics for a German satellite. Engines are based on a technological solution, which has already passed successful orbital qualification at 2025 year based on the DARK payload, launched into space by the D-Orbit ION carrier satellite. This propulsion technology will provide orbital maneuvers and deorbiting at the end of the service life of the German company's 200-kilogram satellite, the launch of which is planned as part of the SpaceX Transporter-20 mission.

Reflex Aerospace CEO Walter Ballheimer noted, that the synergy of environmental technologies, modular architecture and the ability to quickly adapt to the customer's requirements makes their propulsion systems a reliable solution for the implementation of their project. According to him, Arkadia allows the German company to move forward quickly, while maintaining high technical standards and supply chain independence.

Reflex became the newest client of Arkadia engines. Last year, French light launch vehicle developer MaiaSpace selected Arkadia as the engine supplier for its jet control system (RCS). In April, another French company, Dassault Aviation, announced the integration of Arkadia's RCS engines into its VORTEX-D technology demonstrator, created for the future space plane. Against the background of growing demand for engines, that work on hydrogen peroxide, the Spanish company expects significant financial success. According to forecasts of the co-founder and general director of Arkadia Space, Franco Garcia, the total volume of signed contracts should reach 11,6 million dollars by the end of this year.
