BlackSky presented the reconnaissance satellite Gen 3 at the defense exhibition in Riyadh

The American company BlackSky showed its latest 3rd generation reconnaissance satellite at the international defense exhibition World Defense Show in Riyadh. The company's representatives clearly demonstrated the operation of the Spectra platform and third-generation satellites, which are currently only beginning active operation.

According to the developers, Ukraine has made decisive changes in approaches to the use of satellite data. It was the experience of Ukrainian special units that proved the real value of artificial intelligence to the world, which processes snapshots in real time. A key feature of the BlackSky platform is the full automation of image analysis. Artificial intelligence identifies planes, vehicles and vessels within seconds of taking a picture. This allows intelligence to instantly detect the build-up of enemy forces at airfields or ports.

Three Gen generation satellites are currently in orbit 3 with resolution 35 centimeters. Together with the previous grouping, this allows the company to shoot any point on Earth up to 15 times a day. BlackSky plans to launch eight more new devices by the end of this year, to ensure the highest possible frequency of observation. Although the company focuses on defense missions, its technologies have a dual purpose and help in monitoring forest fires or oil and gas industry facilities.
