Boeing delivered the last three O3b mPower satellites to SES

Boeing has officially completed the delivery of the first batch of O3b mPOWER communications satellites to the Luxembourg operator SES, having sent the last three devices (F11, F12 and F13) at the spaceport in Florida. This event marked the successful completion of production of the original group, consisting of 13 high-tech satellites.

New generation platform: All aircraft are built on the basis of the Boeing 702X software-defined platform. It allows you to dynamically redistribute beam power and network bandwidth in real time. This adapts the communication to the current needs of the aircraft, cruise liners, government and commercial clients.

Launch schedule: The last three satellites have already arrived at Cape Canaveral. Their launch is scheduled for September 2026 year using the SpaceX Falcon launch vehicle 9.

Start of work: Expected, that the new trio will enter a given average Earth orbit (MEO) and will fully work in the middle 2027 year. They will complement 10 satellites, які вже зараз успішно надають послуги низьколатентного швидкісного інтернету.

Попри технічні проблеми з модулями живлення на перших чотирьох апаратах сузір’я, which previously forced Boeing and SES to upgrade subsequent satellites, the program was successfully brought to the final stage of deployment. in addition, the commercial success of Boeing technologies in this project has already become the basis for the creation of new military communication satellites Wideband Global Satcom (WGS) commissioned by the US Space Force.
