The American company Cubic Defense is expanding its presence in the market of military satellite communication systems, introducing a new family of Vector terminals — flat-panel antennas with electronic scanning, able to work through different orbital groupings and networks.
Розробка ведеться у співпраці з Інформаційним директоратом Дослідницької лабораторії ВПС США (Affl) в межах багаторічної програми Halo-Enabled Resilient Mesh, aimed at creating stable adaptive networks for work in conditions of radio-electronic confrontation. Financing of the project has been extended until the middle 2027 year, and the total value of the contract, according to AFRL, is about 8,8 million dollars.
After the rebranding, the system was named Vector. It is designed for use in multi-domain operations, where it is necessary to provide communication between ground, air and space platforms. The series includes several modifications — for line of sight (air to air, air-ground), for satellite communication (SATCOM) and a hybrid version, which combines both modes.
The technology of digital beam formation allows you to support up to 16 simultaneous communication channels in the Ka and Ku bands, providing interaction with various satellite constellations without mechanical control of antennas. This creates the possibility of combining terrestrial and space networks into a single adaptive communication system.
