Shenzhou-19 crew successfully returned to Earth after a six-year mission at Tiangong orbital Station

Three Taikovt Mission Shenzhou-19 safely returned to the ground after 183 days of work aboard the Tiangong space station. Landing took place 30 April Fr. 05:08 UTC at the Dongfeng landing zone, not far from the Jiuquan Cosmodrome.

Rescue services arrived on the scene immediately after landing, and the taikonauts left the launcher in less than an hour. All three are doing well.

The composition of the crew and their contribution.

The crew included:

Cai Xuzhe is the mission commander, which now has a total 365 days in space for two missions, becoming the second longest in orbit among taikonauts;

Sun Lindong - made his first space flight;

Wang Haojie is also new to the manned mission program.

During the mission, the crew made three spacewalks, including the record-breaking one in December 2024 year. Numerous scientific experiments were also performed, in particular, in the field of biology — studying the behavior of fruit flies in conditions of a reduced magnetic field.

Flight chronology.

The mission has started 29 October 2024 of the year by the Long March 2F rocket from the Jiuquan Cosmodrome.

Across 6,5 hours, the ship docked with Tiangong station, where the crew took over the station from the previous Shenzhou-18 crew.

28 April 2025 In 2016, the crew handed over control of the station to the new Shenzhou-20 team, which arrived 24 April.

Undocking of the ship from the station took place 29 April, but the landing was delayed due to adverse weather conditions.

Tiangong Station: present and future.

The project of the Chinese Tiangong Orbital Station began in 1992 year, and the first Tianhe module was launched in 2021. To 2022 In 2008, the station received a complete T-shaped configuration of three main modules. It is intended for the permanent presence of the crew for at least ten years.

In the near future, China plans to expand the station with a multifunctional module with six docking ports. This will allow:

accept more international missions;

accommodate commercial passengers and tourists;

without disrupting the main scientific activity of the station.

Expected, that the first international astronaut on Tiangong will be a representative of Pakistan, according to the agreement, signed between the Chinese Space Agency and SUPARCO in February.
