Finnish satellite operator ICEYE has opened a Satellite Technology Center in Warsaw and plans to invest close to 32 million US dollars in research, development and production in Poland in 2026–2028. In parallel with the opening, Polish co-founder and CEO Rafal Modzewski announced the start of cooperation with the Polish Arms Group (PGZ) on the concept of a military satellite communication system, and also reminded about the delivery of the MikroSAR intelligence system to the Armed Forces of Poland within a year after the signing of the contract.
Варшава вже є центром компетенції ICEYE з супутникових операцій, де здійснюють початкові орбітальні роботи, введення супутників в експлуатацію та планування місій, as well as one of the main engineering sites of the radar signal processing company, on-board software, electronics, communication, propulsion systems and system engineering. Minister of Finance and Economy of Poland Andrzej Domanski, present at the opening, emphasized the need to build such value chains within the country.
As of today, there are more than 150 ICEYE employees from more than a thousand company employees in the world. The opening of the Warsaw center took place after the establishment of offices in Berlin, Мюнхені, Лісабоні, Нью-Делі, Амстердамі, Сеулі та створення ICEYE India у серпні.
