11 August 2026 p. during the financial results conference call, Firefly Aerospace management reported significant demand for launch services and ramping up production of the Alpha rocket. At the same time, the frequency of launches remains low.

Firefly Alpha is a light two-stage launch vehicle, intended for launching small satellites and cubesats with a mass of up to low Earth orbit 1000 Kg.
Alpha production is at an all-time high. The company continues to develop a modernized version of Block 2. The next launch (Flight 8) scheduled for the fourth quarter
2026 year. As of August 2026 Alpha made seven launches in 2018 (the first is in September 2021 r.). The last one took place in March 2026 p. after the accident in April 2025 p.
As of today, the contract for three launches with True Anomaly remains valid. Lockheed Martin extended the contract for Alpha launches until 2031 year without increasing the limit in 25 missions. At the same time, joint development of the medium-class Eclipse missile with Northrop Grumman continues. The first launch is planned not earlier 2027 year. The company is focusing on Miranda engine qualification and preparation for a demonstration flight.
