Northrop Grumman's hypersonic navigation system has exceeded expectations during tests on a rocket

Advanced Hypersonic Technology hypersonic inertial measuring unit (At imam) from Northrop Grumman has successfully completed the third key test aboard a sounding rocket, перевершивши прогнози щодо стійкості до перевантажень, висот і швидкостей.

The system demonstrated stable performance in the conditions, where GPS is not available, proving its ability to provide precision guidance at hypersonic speeds. The hardened IMU retained functionality and collected valuable inertial data in extreme conditions, typical for hypersonic flights and space missions.

Multiple use is also proven: in six months, the AHT IMU passed three tests, including preliminary demonstrations on a reusable hypersonic vehicle. Such reliability emphasizes its strength and readiness for defense applications.

Real-world testing of the AHT IMU at record speeds confirms this, that the developed navigation system makes the platforms extremely maneuverable and virtually invulnerable to defense. This technology represents a significant breakthrough in strategic capabilities, surpassing existing systems for US forces.

AHT IMU based on a resonant gyroscope provides precise control without dependence on GPS, giving the military speed, accuracy and resistance to signal jamming. The technology builds on Northrop Grumman's long-standing experience in creating reliable positioning systems, navigation and synchronization.
