18 July 2026 2018, the Indian private company Skyroot Aerospace successfully tested its Vikram-1 rocket. The launch took place from the spaceport on the island of Sriharikota. This is the first space launch, carried out by a private company of the country. It should expand significantly
its ability to launch small vehicles into space.
For reference: Skyroot Aerospace was founded in 2018 year by people from the country's state space agency ISRO. IN 2022 year she loudly announced herself, when it launched the Vikram-S suborbital rocket.
The test launch took place from the spaceport on the island of Sriharikota. Its main purpose was to show, that the system is working properly. What makes the launch special, that he became the first, carried out by a private Indian company. The Vikram-1 rocket has a height 22 city. It is capable of launching a heavy load into low Earth orbit 350 Kg.
India is one of the countries, that quickly entered the ranks of space states. Although it launched its first satellite back in the 20th century, about her as a force, able to compete with the USA, China and Japan, spoke only in the 2020s. The decisive moment was the successful soft landing of the Indian spacecraft on the moon, after which the country became the fourth in the world, who succeeded. Budget of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has been growing rapidly in recent years, which is facilitated by the support of the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi.
