Information notice on the failed launch of the Shijian 32 spacecraft

In China 16 January 2026 year Fr. 14:55 (UTC) launched a rocket Long March 3B/E ("Changzhen-3B") from the launch complex LC-3 of the Sichang Cosmodrome, located in the mountains of Sichuan province in the southwestern part of China.

17 January 2026 year Fr. 08:03 it became known, that the launch was unsuccessful. It is reported, that the payload of the rocket was an experimental satellite "Shijian 32», the purpose of which is unknown. The probable cause of the accident was an anomaly on the third stage. As a result, the degree and companion, likely, fell somewhere in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, without reaching orbit.

State news agency Xinhua reports, that an accident investigation has been launched.
