In July 2022 In 2018, as part of the ISS program, Roscosmos and NASA signed an agreement on cross-flights of Russian cosmonauts on American Crew Dragon ships and American astronauts on Russian Soyuz MS ships. The implementation of the agreement allows for the cancellation or significant delay of the launch of a Russian or American ship to ensure the presence on board the ISS of at least one Roskosmos cosmonaut and one NASA astronaut for maintenance, in accordance, Russian and American segments of the station.
The main tasks of the mission on the ISS are to carry out scientific experiments by astronauts for future flights to the Moon and Mars, as well as ensuring the full operation of the station after the return of the previous mission.
NASA decided to return four astronauts of the "Crew-11" mission from the International Space Station to Earth early due to a health problem with one of the crew members. This is the first medical evacuation in the history of the ISS, which continuously works with rotations of cosmonauts from 2000 year.
