«Cygnus CRS-2 NG-24» – it's a cargo spaceship, built by Northrop Grumman and named after NASA astronaut S.S. Steven R. Nagel.
This spacecraft is designed to deliver cargo to the International Space Station (ISS). After completing the mission, it is brought out of orbit and burns up in the dense layers of the atmosphere.
This mission is the 24th flight of Orbital ATK's unmanned spacecraft and the 23rd flight to the International Space Station under a contract with NASA for commercial services.
Docking with the ISS will be carried out by capturing the ship, that approached the station, remote manipulator arm of the Canadarm-2 ISS and its subsequent connection to the American Unity module.
As part of the NG-24 mission, the Cygnus XL spacecraft is to deliver about five tons of cargo to the station, in particular food, as well as equipment and materials for scientific research.
