«Gaofen 14-02» is a Chinese Earth remote sensing satellite, created within the framework of the state program FULL (China High-resolution Earth Observation System), which is aimed at creating a national high-precision surveillance and mapping system. The device was developed by the Chinese Academy of Space Technology (CAST) and he is a continuation of the mission Gaofen 14, launched in 2020 year.
The main purpose of the satellite is to create three-dimensional topographic maps, land use monitoring, infrastructure, natural resources, as well as scientific support, environmental and defense programs. Thanks to high-resolution optical equipment, the satellite can receive panchromatic images with a resolution of up to 0,6 meters and multispectral to 2,4 meters.
Launch Gaofen 14-02 became an important step in the development of the Chinese system of remote sensing of the Earth. Its successful launch into orbit strengthened China's capabilities in precision mapping and strategic monitoring, and also became another stage in the development of the global program FULL, which provides the country with independent high-precision geospatial data.
