Informational guide on the launch of the KOMPSAT 7 spacecraft

01 December 2025 year Fr. 17:21 (UTC) from the Kuru Space Center, French Guiana, using a launch vehicle «Vega-C» KA DZZ of South Korea was launched «COMPSAT 7».

«COMPSAT 7» is an optical-electronic observation satellite developed by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). The KOMPSAT-7 spacecraft is the next model of the KOMPSAT-3A satellite. It is designed to acquire high-resolution satellite imagery for South Korea's national needs. KOMPSAT-7 is equipped with an AEISS-HR optical camera (Advanced Earth Imaging Sensor System with High Resolution), which has a high resolution 30 cm in panchromatic mode, 1,2 m in color mode and 4 m in infrared mode.

«Vega C (Vega Consolidation) » is a European lightweight four-stage disposable launch vehicle capable of delivering up to 2300 kg of payload to high-altitude orbit 700 km.

At the moment, there are four operational satellites of the KOMPSAT type DZZ in low orbit and two meteorological spacecraft in geostationary orbit.
