Qingzhou Spacecraft Demo Flight Mission Launch Briefing

30 March 2026 year Fr. 11:00 (UTC) from the center of launch of Juzuan satellites, The People's Republic of China conducted a test launch of a new RN «Kinetica 2» with three payloads on board.

«New March 02» / «Xinzhengcheng-02» / "Qingzhou-1" – prototype cargo spacecraft, which will be launched into orbit for testing flight characteristics and maneuvering.

«New March 02» / «Xinzhengcheng-02» – it is an experimental satellite, orbiting laboratory for testing commercial electronics, equipped with a multi-angle surveillance camera.

«TS-01» – there is almost no information about this device, but, probably, ce analogue Shiyan, TJS. Probable problems of the apparatus: testing communication and Internet technologies.

PH «Kinetica 2» – it is China's newest commercial launch vehicle, developed by CAS Space. It marks the company's transition from solid-propellant rockets to more complex and powerful reusable liquid carriers. Designed to meet the country's growing needs for the removal of large satellite groups and cargo for the Tiangong space station. This two-stage rocket has a height 53 meters and the diameter of the central block 3,35 meters. Its starting mass is 628 tons, and the starting thrust is 766 tons, powered by three YF-102 oxy-kerosene engines on each of the three first stages.

The main feature «Kinetica 2» there is its carrying capacity and potential for multiple use. The rocket is capable of launching up to 12 tons of payload into low Earth orbit or 7,8 tons into a sun-synchronous high altitude orbit 500 km. This is almost five times more, than its predecessor, the Kinetica-1 solid-propellant rocket. Future plans are to return and reuse the first stage and side boosters, what, at the request of the developers, will allow to significantly reduce the cost of launches and increase their frequency for the implementation of such large-scale projects, as the national satellite network "Thousand Sails" (G60).
