IonQ has completed Capella Space absorption for creating a space -shaped space distribution network

IonQ, a leader in the field of quantum computing and networks, completed the takeover of Capella Space, American company, specializing in synthetic aperture radar technologies (SAR) and satellite solutions. This step is an important stage in realizing IonQ's ambitious goal of creating the world's first space-based quantum key distribution network (QKD) for communication between satellites and with the earth, which will provide ultra-reliable global communications.

Upon completion of the deal, IonQ will begin development of a space-based QKD network, integrating Capella's satellite infrastructure with proprietary quantum technologies. This network will provide secure communication, in which the encryption key cannot be intercepted or copied without detection. in addition, the platform will become the basis for the development of additional areas of quantum networks and sensor technologies.

Capella customers will gain access to fast and ultra-secure SAR imagery and remote sensing through the world's first quantum-enabled Earth observation platform. Absorption of Capella, together with the previously concluded agreement with ID Quantique, strengthens IonQ's position in the development of quantum network technologies, necessary for the creation of a quantum Internet. This project builds on recent contracts with the Applied Intelligence and Security Research Laboratory (ARLIS) and the US Air Force Research Laboratory (Affl).
