Isar Aerospace canceled the launch of the Spectrum rocket due to a violation of the security zone

Isar Aerospace company during the launch attempt of the "Onward and Upward" mission 25 March 2026 was forced to cancel the launch of its Spectrum rocket from the Andøya spaceport in Norway.

Here are the details of the incident:

Cause: Unauthorized vessel (fisher) entered the security zone at sea, which caused the countdown to be suspended for approx 10 minutes.

Consequences: Because of the delay, caused by this violation, resetting the count took the command outside the available "run window". As a result, the automated system canceled the start just before the engines were ignited.

Culprit: Norwegian fisherman Olafur Einarsson later admitted, that did not have time to leave the closed sea zone around the space center.

Mission status: This was to be the second flight attempt of the Spectrum rocket (qualification mission), six payloads were on board, including five cubesats.

The company is currently working with Andøya Space to determine a new launch window.
