By the end of 2025 Italy will open one of the largest and most modern European satellite production centers on the outskirts of Rome. The object is also oriented towards sustainable development: it is LEED certified, equipped with solar panels and rainwater harvesting systems. According to government estimates, the opening of the Space Smart Factory will not only increase Italy's competitiveness in the field of space technology, and will create new jobs and export opportunities, strengthening Europe's strategic autonomy in an era of growing global competition.
