China demonstrated hypersonic missiles, ICBMs and drones at a military parade

A military parade was held in Beijing, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, during which China showed a number of the latest weapons for the first time. Among them are hypersonic missiles, intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) and unmanned systems, which emphasize the country's ability for a global strike from the air, sea and land.

Among the new systems is the JL-1 long-range air-to-air missile, underwater ICBM JL-3, ground-based missiles DF-61 and DF-31BJ. Also featured is the giant AJX underwater drone-002, GJ-11 stealth attack drone, stealth drone CS-5000T and anti-ship missile YJ-19.

The HQ-19 system attracted special attention, capable of intercepting ballistic missiles mid-flight and potentially hitting objects in low Earth orbit. It is the HQ-19 modification, according to analysts, China used during the test 2007 year, when the Fengyun satellite was destroyed, which caused international criticism due to the generation of large amounts of space debris.

The parade became a demonstration of China's modern defensive and offensive capabilities and at the same time a signal of the country's readiness to defend its strategic interests against the background of growing geopolitical tensions.
