Blue Origin made the first flight of New Shepard in 2026 year

22 January 2026 Blue Origin made the first flight of the New Shepard spacecraft this year from Launch Site One, sending five paying passengers and one company employee into space.

The NS-38 mission followed a typical flight profile: the crew capsule reached maximum altitude 106 kilometers above the Earth's surface, after which she landed on parachutes about
10 minutes after the start. The booster made an engine landing about two and a half minutes early.

There were nine New Shepard flights last year: seven piloted and two only with payload. As of today, Blue Origin has not provided official information about the planned number of flights of the ship on 2026 year, however in 4 quartile last year, the company said it intended to move from an almost monthly pace to "roughly weekly" over the next few years. Such an increase in the frequency of launches will be possible thanks to three new devices, which the company plans to put into operation later this year.
