SES has expanded its launch contract with Relativity Space

12 November 2025 2018, the leading company in the field of space solutions SES announced the extension of a multi-year agreement with the American company Relativity Space, which develops the Terran R missile. They will collaborate on several launches aboard the Terran R, a heavy-duty, reusable launch vehicle, which will deliver selected SES satellites to their final orbits. The first launch is scheduled for the end 2026 year from the Cape Canaveral Spaceport
in Florida.

Under the new agreement, SES will be able to use Terran R to launch its geostationary satellites (GEO) or average (MEO) orbit. Розширена співпраця надасть змогу диверсифікувати доступ до пускових послуг, зменшуючи залежність від SpaceX
і Arianespace, отримати більш гнучкі графіки запусків завдяки багаторазовому ракето-носію, which can be restarted more often, and also reduce the cost per launch, when Terran R reaches operational maturity. SES positions itself as an "innovation partner" in the new space economy,
and cooperation with Relativity rockets creates the image of the company, which supports breakthrough technologies in addition to conservative suppliers.

Company Relativity Space, in turn, as a result of signing a multi-year contract
with such a global operator as SES, will gain higher credibility in the space industry and have more opportunities to attract new orders, investors and partners. So, Relativity can compete in the medium-heavy segment, which is traditionally controlled by the SpaceX Falcon 9, ULA Vulcan and Arianespace Ariane 6.
