The US Space Command last week conducted the first live flight training of Apollo Maneuvers 2026. The goal was to test space operations and logistics concepts to improve readiness and interoperability in a competitive space environment.
The training is inspired by the Louisiana maneuvers 1941 year. The main focus was on the coordination of maneuvers on the low, medium and geostationary orbits, improvements in maneuverable warfare and integration of the countries of the Multinational Forces of the Olympic Defender operation (Australia, Canada, France, Germany, UTC, Great Britain and the USA).
Commander General Stephen Whiting emphasized, that operating from a static orbit makes assets vulnerable, therefore, maneuverability and survivability are necessary to gain an advantage in space.
The collected data will be used to form doctrine, operational plans, logistics in the conditions of countermeasures and satellite maintenance requirements.
