US Space Force Office of Rapid Space Capabilities (Space Rapid Capabilities Office, Space RCO) chose three companies to develop sensors, designed to help US military satellites in geosynchronous orbit detect, when they are observed from Earth.
For reference: The Office of Rapid Space Capabilities is a specialized procurement unit, which focuses on rapid deployment of space systems.
29 April 2026 year Space RCO reported, which concluded three Small Business Innovation Research contracts (SBIR) at a cost of 3 million dollars each with Assurance Technology Corp., Raptor Dynamix та Innovative Signal Analysis. Companies will develop payloads, capable of detecting and characterizing ground radar radiation, which track American satellites, operating in geosynchronous orbit. Detecting these signals, sensors will allow the US Space Force to determine in real time, whether orbital assets are being observed or targeted by enemy systems.
The contracts were signed together with SpaceWERX (curator of SBIR programs) for the development of compact and budget equipment for military satellites. The awards involve the development of “advanced radar exposure warning receivers, designed for dynamically maneuverable satellite platforms in geostationary orbit".
