US space forces ordered two more GPS IIIF satellites worth $500 million

The US Space Force has signed a contract with Lockheed Martin for the supply of two more satellites of the GPS series III Follow-on global navigation system (IIIF) for a total amount 509,7 Millions of US dollars. It's about satellites under numbers 21 and 22, which should supplement the advanced navigation system, intended for military and civilian users around the world.

According to the terms of the contract, delivery of satellites is expected by 2031 year. The order was placed within the framework agreement from 2018 year, which provides for the possibility of production up to 22 devices. Taking into account this tranche, the total number of ordered IIIF satellites has reached 12 units, and the total value of the contract increased to 4,1 A billion dollars of US.
