Madari Space will launch the first orbital data center in 2026 year

Abu Dhabi startup Madari Space is preparing to launch the world's first low-Earth orbit data center in the third quarter 2026 year, that will become an innovative step in data processing in space. The project is supported by the UAE Space Agency, Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, demonstrating the company's ability to store and process data in space.

The mission is a pilot and aims to confirm the possibility of data processing in space, using the strategic advantages of working with the UAE, where national space agency and government support accelerates commercial development. Terrestrial data centers are among the most energy-intensive facilities, with carbon emissions, exceeding the aviation industry, especially due to the growing needs of artificial intelligence infrastructure. Orbital center, powered by solar energy in the cold vacuum of space, offers an environmentally sustainable solution.

Initially, Madari Space will focus on serving Earth observation operators and other space companies, which generate large amounts of data in orbit. Data processing in space enables real-time decision-making, eliminating delays, related to the transmission of data to Earth. The mission will also reduce risks and improve technologies before expanding into a circumlunar economy between the Earth and the Moon.

Company, located in one of the space economic zones of the UAE, accesses specialized permissions, advanced laboratories and acceleration programs, supported by the Mohammed bin Rashid Innovation Fund. This strengthens Madari Space's position in responding to the growing demand for secure and scalable data processing solutions, and supports the UAE's ambitions to become a leader in space innovation and digital sustainability.
