NASA cancels the crew's spacewalk due to astronaut health problems and returns the Crew-11 mission to Earth early

Exit of the station commander and flight engineer of the Crew-11 mission, which was supposed to happen 8 January 2026 year, was canceled due to the deterioration of health of one of the crew members of the ISS. The team had to install a modification kit and lay cables for the future deployable solar array, and also install connecting cables, photograph equipment and collect samples of microorganisms.

NASA officials declined to release details about the victim's identity or the nature of the medical problem, citing privacy concerns. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman later said, that the condition of the crew member remains stable, however, announced the decision on the early return to Earth of the Crew-11 mission, without giving a specific date. The mission consists of four people: NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Michael Fink, JAXA astronaut Kimiya Yui and Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Platonov.

The launch of the next Crew-12 mission is not yet scheduled 15 February this year. NASA is considering an earlier launch, but does not announce the date yet.
