NearSpace Launch Places TROOP-F6 Aboard SpaceX Bandwagon-6 Rocket for Space Weather and Space Situational Awareness Missions

NearSpace Launch Inc. (NSL) from Upland (state of Indiana) announced plans to launch the TROOP-F6 spacecraft as part of the SpaceX Bandwagon-6 mission in April 2027 year. NSL will act as the satellite owner and mission manager. The device will be used for internal technological demonstrations, as well as for hosting commercial and institutional payloads, focused on space weather monitoring and situational awareness in space (SSA).

The mission continues the line of previous TROOP demonstrators, in particular TROOP-3 and TROOP-F2. Компанія вже забезпечила розгортання понад 1000 систем і підсистем на орбіті, включаючи CubeSat, приймачі зв’язку EyeStar та системи відстеження Black Box.

TROOP-F6 is designed as a multifunctional small satellite platform for medium inclined low Earth orbit. It will be equipped with space weather sensors to measure ionospheric plasma parameters, radiation flow and solar particles, as well as tools for tracking space debris and assessing the safety of space traffic.

The aircraft uses NSL's standardized modular avionics and EyeStar radio architecture to provide real-time telemetry. It is possible to place third-party payloads with volume allocation, power supply and high-speed data transmission interfaces.

The launch of TROOP-F6 is scheduled for April
