The company Northrop Grumman transferred 21 satellite to the US Space Force Vandenberg as part of the expansion of the low-orbit network for military communications and missile tracking. Satellites are included in the Transport Tier Tranche 1 US Space Agency (SDA) and are designed to provide secure, low-latency data links, as well as interactions with the Proliferated Space Architecture Tracking Level to support combat operations (Pwsa).
Northrop Grumman produces aircraft with a focus on large groups. In the next six months, several dozen more satellites of the company are expected to be launched for data transmission and anti-missile defense tasks.
PWSA provides low-latency communications and space-based tracking of missile threats in low Earth orbit. The architecture is built in successive tranches approximately every two years. In December 2025 year, SDA concluded deals worth approx 3,5 billion USD with L3Harris, Lockheed Martin, Rocket Lab and Northrop Grumman for manufacturing 72 satellites Tracking level with launches in 2029 financial year.
