The Implementation Agreement between DKA and the European Space Agency was signed

30 October 2025 Volodymyr Mikheev, Acting Chairman of the DKA, and General Director of the European Space Agency (ЕКА) Josef Aschbacher signed the Implementation Agreement between DKA and ESA on the provision of technical and expert support (hereinafter – the Implementation Agreement). The implementation agreement was concluded in accordance with the provisions of the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the European Space Agency on cooperation in the use of outer space for peaceful purposes. The signing ceremony was held online.

The implementation agreement defines the procedure for the interaction of the parties during the joint implementation of space projects in accordance with the rules and requirements of ESA. Among other things, the document provides for the possibility of attracting funds from third countries to finance the participation of Ukrainian space actors in ESA projects.

Successful implementation of the Implementation Agreement, except for the results of space projects, will allow the DKA to gain practical cooperation coordination experience with the ESA, and will provide new opportunities to the subjects of space activity of Ukraine, including financial, for the development of European partnership, integration of the Ukrainian space sector into the European scientific and technological space.

Cooperation in accordance with the Implementation Agreement will contribute to the development of innovations, increasing the competitiveness of the national space industry and expanding Ukraine's participation in European space initiatives and will be a significant step on the way to Ukraine's membership in ESA.
