Polish startup Liftero has signed a contract with the Indian company OrbitAID Aerospace to supply chemical engines for satellite maintenance missions in orbit.
Basic details of cooperation:
Technology: Liftero will provide its flagship BOOSTER system, a green chemical propulsion system, which runs on nitrous oxide (N2O) and propane.
The first mission (AayulSAT): The engines will be installed on the satellite with a mass of approx 50 Kg. The launch is planned for the first half of the year 2025 year (previously reported on 12 January 2026 year) using India's launch vehicle PSLV.
The purpose of the mission: Demonstration of technologies for refueling and docking in space to extend the service life of satellites.
Uniqueness: A multi-engine configuration will be developed for OrbitAID, which will provide maneuvering with six degrees of freedom (6-DOF). This will be the first time a nitrous oxide-based system has been used for such complex on-orbit operations.
About the company:
Liftero: founded in 2023 year in Warsaw, specializes in rapid production of scalable propulsion systems for today's space market.
OrbitAID: an Indian company from Bangalore, which seeks to create "space gas stations" and infrastructure for sustainable maintenance of satellites.
