Notice of the launch of the HTV-X1 spacecraft

26 October 2025 year Fr. 02:22 (UTC) From the Tanegasim Space Center, Japan, using a launch vehicle H3-24 the cargo spacecraft was launched HTV-X1.

"HTV-X1" is the first flight of a modernized Japanese transport spacecraft of the new generation, developed by the JAXA agency in cooperation with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. It is designed to deliver cargo to the International Space Station (ISS).

This spacecraft was created using an updated design, more energy-efficient power systems and an improved cargo section. After completing the main mission to the ISS, the device is planned to be used for technological demonstrations in orbit, in particular, tests of new orbital maneuvering and autonomous control systems.

The HTV-X1 mission is the first test flight in the new HTV-X series of transport ships. On board the device is placed approx 6 000 kg of cargo, among which: scientific equipment, spare parts for the station, life support systems, experiments for the Japanese module "Kibo" and supplies for the crew.

PH «H3-24» is a modification of the new Japanese H3 missile, developed by the JAXA agency (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) together with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. It was created as a replacement for the previous H-IIA/H-IIB series, to provide a more flexible, Japan's economic and powerful access to space.
