Notice of the launch of the OroraTech OTC-P1 spacecraft

26 March 2025 year Fr. 15:30 (UTC) from the Mahia Peninsula, UTC, using a launch vehicle «Electron» eight KA missions were launched «Finding Hot Wildfires Near You (OroraTech OTC-P1)».

«OroraTech OTC-P1» is the first group of satellites, developed by a German company OroraTech, to monitor forest fires in real time. Each satellite is equipped with a thermal infrared camera, which makes it possible to record temperature anomalies and detect ignition sources in the early stages.

Mission "Finding Hot Wildfires Near You» aimed at improving the speed of response to natural disasters, forest protection, settlements and infrastructure.

To 2028 year OroraTech plans to expand the group to 100 satellites, which will allow to significantly increase the effectiveness of monitoring natural fires all over the world. Thanks to constant observation and analysis of the received data, the system will provide accurate forecasts of the risk of fires and contribute to the reduction of damage from natural disasters.
