Notice of the launch of the "Zhangheng-1-02" spacecraft

14 June 2025 year Fr. 07:56 (UTC) from the center of launch of Juzuan satellites, China using a launch vehicle «Long March 2D» China's scientific satellite was launched «Zhangheng-1-02».

«Zhangheng» this is the second Sino-Italian scientific mission, which monitors electromagnetic fields and waves, plasma disturbances of the atmosphere, ionosphere and magnetosphere, caused by natural sources, as well as studying their correlation with the occurrence of seismic events. In general, the mission will study the structure and dynamics of the upper ionosphere, mechanisms of communication with the lower and higher plasma layers and temporal changes of the geomagnetic field in calm and disturbed conditions.

The satellite mission is part of a collaborative program between the CNSAs (China National Space Administration) and ASI (Італійським космічним агентством) and developed by CEA (China Earthquake Administration) and INFN (Italian National Institute of Nuclear Physics) together with several Chinese and Italian universities and research institutes. "Zhangheng-1-02" is a satellite of the space monitoring system, proposed for the study of the upper ionosphere using the most modern methods and equipment and designed to collect data on the near-Earth electromagnetic environment from around the world.

«Long March 2D» it is a Chinese two-stage launch vehicle, which is used to launch satellites into low Earth orbits (LEO).

The launch of the "Zhangheng-1-02" satellite will expand China's capabilities for comprehensive monitoring of major natural disasters under the scheme “space-air-earth”.
