Announcement of the launch of the "Artemis II" mission

РН «SLS Block 1» – it is a super heavy rocket, developed by NASA to perform missions within the program "Artemis program». The rocket is equipped with solid-fuel side boosters and is capable of launching significant cargo and manned ships beyond Earth orbit.

Mission «Artemis II» is the first manned flight within the program «Artemis» and involves flying around the moon without landing on its surface. The main purpose of the flight is to check the operation of all the ship's systems «Orion» with the participation of the crew, including life support systems, navigation and communication.

«Orion» – is NASA's reusable manned spacecraft, intended for human flights beyond the Earth's orbit.

In the future, the mission «Artemis II» will be an important stage of preparation for the next flights, in particular Artemis III, within which it is planned to land a man on the surface of the moon for the first time since Apollo 17.
