NASA employees organize new demonstration against science budget cuts and layoffs at the space agency. The third protest under the slogan "Save NASA" is planned for 15 September near the NASA headquarters in Washington. The promotion will continue from 8:00 to 13:00 in the Eastern time (12:00–17:00 UTC).

Protests began in June against the backdrop of the Mission and Personnel Reduction Reports after the Trump Administration's proposed budget for the financial year 2026. The document provides 24% Reduction of NASA total funding, including 47% Reduction of scientific programs and elimination of office of STEM ENGIGENT. Although Congress has not yet approved the budget, The NASA is already releasing and stopping the projections.
Additional voltage caused signed 28 August Trump Decree on dissolution of trade unions of federal workers, including NASA. This deprived employees the opportunity to react collectively to reduction.
Congress has time to 30 September, To approve the final NASA budget. If the decision is not made, The agency is waiting for a partial termination of work during the government's "rod". Protest participants emphasize, that the current action should highlight the political risks for the administration in the event of further "collapse" of NASA's science and education program.
