Mexico President threatens to sue the SpaceX rocket fragments

Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum on Wednesday threatened a lawsuit due to the fall of debris and pollution of the Mexican territory, What happened last week when Starship rocket (SpaceX) exploded during routine ground tests in Starbase on the South Texas coast near the Mexican border.

The Mexico Government will determine, What international laws are violated, to file the necessary lawsuits. Mexican officials are conducting a comprehensive review of the impact of missile launches on the environment of the neighboring state of Tamaulipas.

In early May, the US Federal Civil Aviation Administration approved an increase in the annual number of Starship rocket launches from five to 25, stating, that the increase in frequency will not have a negative impact on the environment.

The decision rejected the objections of environmental groups, who warned, that expansion could threaten sea turtles and shorebirds.

The lawsuit will be another legal dispute between Mexico and the American corporate giant.
