The Russian Federation jammed the GPS signal of the British Defense Minister's plane

According to The Times newspaper, a few days ago, a British Air Force aircraft experienced jamming of the GPS signal. Defense Minister John Geely was on board the ship, who was returning home after visiting British soldiers in Estonia.

The electronic intervention started at the beginning of the route, when the plane flew near the Russian border. As a result of the jamming, the pilots had to use a different navigation system, because the plane's GPS was turned off during the three-hour flight. It is unknown, whether the plane carrying Minister Gili was the target of Russian aggressive actions, but, according to the media, its flight path was visible on aircraft tracking websites.

The incident happened a day after that, as it became known, that last month two Russian warplanes repeatedly intercepted a Royal Air Force reconnaissance plane over the Black Sea. It is known, that a Russian Su-35 fighter jet approached the Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft, getting close enough, to activate its emergency systems, turning off the autopilot. The Su-27 fighter also made six passes in front of the Royal Air Force aircraft, coming within six meters of his nose. IN 2024 aircraft of the Royal Air Force, on board which was the then Secretary of Defense Grant Shapps, also became a victim of jamming the GPS signal during a flight near Russian territory.
