25 September 2026 In 2018, Rocket Lab successfully put another Japanese radar satellite into orbit for Synspective. Mission "Owlright, Owlright, Owlright" was carried out by the Electron rocket, which started from the Space Complex 1 in New Zealand. The satellite was launched into low Earth orbit according to the plan - it is already the 13th device of the Strix series, delivered by Rocket Lab for Synspective, which creates a constellation of synthetic aperture radar satellites for Earth monitoring, urban planning and response to natural disasters.
The launch was Rocket Lab's 97th overall and 18th in its history 2026 year, and for Electron — on the 15th of this year. The rocket is capable of launching into a low orbit up to 300 kg of payload. Strix satellites weigh close 100 kg and after deployment the antennas reach the width 5 meters. Rocket Lab has committed to taking the entire constellation out of 30 devices by the end of the decade.
