SES Space and Defense, SES SES, entered into a five -year contract on 89,6 Million dollars with the US Army to provide commercial satellite communication services within the Sustainment Tactical Network program. The agreement will provide reliable communication for combat support units, Programs of the Ministry of Defense and other federal institutions through global Ku-band on geostationary satellites.
The work is supported by the Office of Commercial Satellite Communications, which guarantees uninterrupted coverage worldwide. The system integrates satellite channels with the terrestrial network, which connects commercial teleports and global network hubs, creating a sustainable communications architecture for military operations.
The contract is a continuation of SES's previous work within the Wideband Enterprise Satellite Systems program, highlighting their role as a leading provider of secure and interoperable satellite solutions for the US military. The agreement strengthens the army's communications infrastructure, providing operational readiness and flexibility in global operations.
