The US Space Force has officially adopted and is deploying the new Meadowlands Mobile Satellite Jamming System. This complex is a deep modernization of the Counter Communications System anti-satellite system (CCS) from L3Harris Technologies. His main task – temporarily and irreversibly block communication and data transmission channels of Chinese and Russian intelligence satellites during conflicts.
The main advantages of the Meadowlands system:
Maximum mobility: The equipment was placed on wheeled trailers instead 23 massive containers, as before. Now the entire system is transported only in 7 boxes.
Remote control: The complexes are distributed all over the world, but operators can manage them remotely from a single center. This minimizes the number of personnel at the positions.
Wide frequency spectrum: The system is capable of jamming a much larger range of radio frequencies, effectively suppressing modern optical and radar reconnaissance satellites (ISR).
Reduced ecological and physical footprint: Mobility makes it difficult to detect complexes by enemy means of defeat.
The US Space Force is deploying the Meadowlands in conjunction with other electronic warfare tools (REB):
Remote Modular Terminals (RMT): Smaller and even more mobile terminals from CACI and Northstrat companies, operating on the principle of a high-power signal ("shouting in the ear" of the companion) to disrupt his broadcasts.
Bounty Hunter Monitoring Network: Used by the Department of Defense to detect and track attempts to jam American spacecraft by an adversary.
The Pentagon has already approved the potential export of the Meadowlands complexes through the Foreign Military Sales program to the closest allies of the Five Eyes intelligence alliance (Five Eyes).
