The European company The Exploration Company has completed the initial pressure testing of the pressurized structure of the Structural Test Model (STM) Nyx, own development. The structure was manufactured by the French company CNIM Systèmes Industriels in mid-February 2026 year.
For reference: Aerospace company The Exploration Company, founded in 2021 year, develops reusable spacecraft. Her main project is the Nyx capsule, intended for the delivery of goods and, in perspective, people into Earth orbit and the Moon. The company is based in Germany and France, aiming to make space exploration more accessible and sustainable.
The Nyx STM pressure test series has been successfully completed 31 March. This type of testing is used to verify that, whether the pressurized structure of the spacecraft can safely withstand the internal pressure of the cabin and the load, which occur during flight. Tests were also used to validate model predictions with real data. The next stage will be STM vibration testing, which will simulate mechanical loads and vibrations, that occur during startup.
According to preliminary information, the debut of the capsule is scheduled for 2028 year.
