The first flight of Northrop Grumman's new Cygnus XL cargo ship was met with technical difficulties. Two days after the Falcon launch 9 SpaceX (14 September), the vehicle encountered an engine problem during orbital maneuvers, necessary to approach the International Space Station (ISS).
The main engine stopped working early, than was planned, during two orbit corrections. This made it impossible for the ship to arrive at the ISS 17 September, as originally planned. NASA and Northrop Grumman are currently reviewing a new docking date. At the same time, all other systems of the device function normally.
